Beaufort
The whole village of Beaufort has been decreed an historic monument. From Beaufort you can see as far as the Pyrenees.
In the centre stands a chateau that dominates the village. Although originating in the 13th century the present chateau dates mainly from the 18th century.
From Beaufort there are many walkers routes and the beaches of Narbonne-Plage are within a half hours drive.
Nearby Olonzac is a lively little town in the MINERVOIS with all shops and a very popular market day.
Cafés with outside terraces run along the main avenue.
Olonzac is good for shopping, you can find a supermarket, butcher, fishmonger and of course a selection of bakers. You can even visit the hairdresser if you wish.
The terrace of Café La Poste is a good place to while away some time.
You will also find a wide selection of restaurants in the vicinity of Beaufort and Olonzac.
