In Siran you will find a bakery, small grocery shop (Vital), post office and a cafe/restaurant. In nearby village Olonzac (8 km) are various larger supermarkets. Chateau Siran is a restaurant open for lunch and dinner with a lovely outside closed off garden where you can eat as well (www.chateau-de-siran.com). Also, from June until September you can eat at restaurant near the town hall called Le Jardin.
Siran is a typical southern French village surrounded by vineyards, located between the beautiful medieval town of Carcassonne and Narbonne with the famous 'Canal du Midi' running through. Only a bike ride away is the Lake Jouarres where you can windsurf and swim. Siran is a very calm village where its inhabitants play 'jeux de boules' next to the church. In the neighbouring village of 'La Liviniere' the world's best red wine was elected out of 9000 samples in 2005! Siran is a 45 minutes' drive away from Gruissan Plage, a quaint village perched on top of a hill next to a large sandy beach. Other beaches include Narbonne Plage or Valras. The ideal holiday for relaxation and outdoor fun with worthy places to visit.
